The Park City Police Department received a series of reports last week of a slip accident during the first major snowstorm of the season.
These cases do not seem serious, but they illustrate the difficulties caused by the winter weather. Drivers need to adapt to winter conditions when it snows, which usually leads to accidents.
Some of these cases include:
• At 8:11 am on Friday, December 10, a sliding accident was reported in the Meadows Drive and Normans Way areas. The vehicle hit a power box and an unspecified telephone infrastructure. The police said that the driver had left.
• At 7:13 am on December 10, a slip accident was reported on Marsac Avenue. The person who contacted the police was not sure if anyone was in the car.
• At 1:02 pm on December 10, an accident was reported on Marsac Avenue, apparently on the northern section of the road. The police said no one was injured and the vehicle was not in the way.
• At 3:32 pm on Thursday, December 9, a slip and fall accident was reported at the intersection of Munchkin Road and Woodbine Way. The log of the public police described the case as "crushed by a snow removal device," but it is not clear what kind of damage was caused.
• At 1:12 pm on December 9, a slip accident was reported on Ontario Avenue. The police were told that the car was blocking the street and was "about to knock down a house."
• At 11:55 am on December 9, multiple incidents were reported in the Holiday Ranch Loop Road area. The public police log did not indicate that these cases were slips and falls, but the weather seems to have played a role. The police were told that one of the cars hit the mailbox and the other car hit that car. Those who contacted the police worried that more accidents would happen. There were no reports of injuries.
• At 11:29 am on December 9, a driver crashed into a fire hydrant on Lowell Avenue in a slip accident.
• At 7:49 am on December 9, two vehicles were reported to be stuck after a slip accident in the Royal Street and Centennial Circle area. They were pushed out.
